Healing Through Art
She came to CCAV carrying trauma connected to a date she had struggled with for years. In therapy, she began using expressive arts to work through her feelings and understand her experiences in a new way. Over time, these creative moments became part of her healing. Recently, she shared a painting created on that same date, explaining how she has learned to grow, blossom, and reclaim her story. What was once a painful reminder now represents her strength.
Confidence and Connection in STEAM
A young boy hesitated to join our STEAM program after his family’s recent stay in a shelter. With steady encouragement and a space where he felt welcomed, seen, and heard, he began to participate and gain confidence. At the program celebration, he proudly handed out certificates while his mother cried tears of joy and his father streamed the moment over FaceTime so she wouldn’t miss it. The experience brought the family closer and showed him what he is capable of when he feels supported.
A Family Restored
A mother facing years of housing instability, substance use challenges, and separation from her young child came to CCAV ready to rebuild. Through parenting support, case management, and consistent therapeutic services, she worked toward stability and new routines that strengthened her confidence. By October of this year, she met every program goal, and her case closed in recognition of her progress. Their reunification now reflects warmth, trust, resilience, and the lasting impact of reliable support.
