Wraparound Engagement Desert Outreach (WEDO CCAV)

Wraparound Engagement Desert Outreach (WEDO CCAV)

WEDO CCAV is a comprehensive program offering support and connections to other community-based programs.

WEDO CCAV is dedicated to providing a network of support to transitional-age youth (ages 16-25 years), justice-involved adults, and those affected by COVID-19 in order to ensure they have the tools they need to be successful and thrive independently. We do this through community outreach events, our WEDO Connection Post & Drop-in Center, and one-on-one appointments. Connect with one of our specially trained community ambassadors to find out what we can do for you.

Transitional-Age Youth (TAY) -- Ages 16-25

Using a peer-support model, CCAV empowers young adults to assist their peers with resources and valuable linkages. WEDO strongly believe that this peer-based model is both highly effective and sustainable for successful connection and relationship building with our participants. TAY Peer Support Specialists work diligently to assist participants with linkages to housing, academic, employment, and everyday necessities including obtaining IDs, filling out forms, and applying for jobs. Adulting is Hard. Doing it Alone is Harder.

WEDO Connection Post & Drop-in Center

Offering in-person services by appointment or on a drop-in basis seven days a week. Here TAY adults can access:

  • Laundry and shower facilities.
  • Hot meals and snacks.
  • Mental health therapy for individuals and in groups.
  • Vocational and educational support.
  • Connections to resources for housing, legal services, parenting skills training and more.

Funded by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health – MHSA Innovation 2 grant, the WEDO CCAV collaboration is part of a county-wide project to create a more trauma-informed community. Here at CCAV we are focusing on three groups: transitional-age youth, justice-involved adults and those affected by COVID-19. By working with our community of public service providers, educators, employers, housing providers, law enforcement, faith-based organizations and others, we aim to develop a safe and inclusive network of support and opportunity for WEDO participants.
