What does Transitional Age Youth (TAY) mean?
Transitional Age Youth (TAY) characterizes young adults ages 16-25 years who are transitioning from teenhood to adulthood. Without proper support, young adults are met with many obstacles to achieving and sustaining independence. Particularly vulnerable TAY include aged out foster youth and youth who identify as LGBTQ+.
Justice involvement means having been incarcerated or having personal experience with the criminal justice system. Justice involvement poses a significant barrier to reentry for employment, housing, and more.
