What does Transitional Age Youth (TAY) mean?
Transitional Age Youth (TAY) characterizes young adults ages 16-25 years who are transitioning from teenhood to adulthood. Without proper support, young adults are met with many obstacles to achieving and sustaining independence. Particularly vulnerable TAY include those who are aging-out or have aged-out of the foster system as well as those who identify as LGBTQ+.
What does justice-involved mean?
An individual is considered justice-involved if they have been incarcerated or had personal experience with the criminal justice system. Those reentering the community after justice involvement, can face significant barriers to securing employment, housing and more.
